About Fort Myers Bat Removal

Welcome to fortmyersbat.com. We are the only qualified bat removal company in Fort Myers, Florida. Bats have a rather good public image because of the wonderful superhero named after them, and in many ways they are a very positive species to have around because each bat can eat up to 3,000 flying insects every evening when they go out to hunt. Like many natural species, they don't always live up to their image however, and when you find a colony of bats has moved into your attic or loft space, then you need another hero to come to your rescue. Our animal removal company has been dealing with bat infestations in older properties, and some newer properties from time to time, and we are proud to use exclusion so that none of the bats are harmed during this work. We have a friendly team available to take your call 24/7, and they can give you an indication of cost along with giving you advice on what you should do. Our animal removal operatives are usually available for a quick call out, often on the same day, and when dealing with a bat infestation, the first step is to carry out a 32 point inspection of the premises, to find all of the holes the bats are using to get in and out. We then use exclusion methods that allow the bats out, but then stop them from getting back into the property. We will then ensure that all of the holes are sealed to a building grade standard, to prevent any bats from getting back in for years to come. We operate 24-7-365, so don't hesitate to call us at 239-317-0582 to discuss your bat problem and schedule a fast appointment.

Residential

We are experts at removing bats from residential properties. Whether you have a single bat trapped in your house, a colony roosting in your attic, and/or various other problems, there is no need to worry! During our removal process, we make sure to inspect your entire home carefully, tracking down all the entrypoints bats are using to invade your place. Next, we perform a process called live exclusion (where no bats are harmed and all exit your property), then seal all entry holes completely shut. We also take care of the cleanup process after, so your home is safe and clean!

Commercial

Besides residential areas, we also have a wealth of experience removing bats from commercial properties! We begin by investigating the area for possible bat entrances, covering holes even as small as 1/4 of an inch. Through our live exclusion process, bats leave the building through one-way exits, and we seal up every hole afterward. Once the bats have been removed, we perform a cleanup process. This includes dealing with guano, replacing damaged insulation, and decontaminating the place.

What Our Customers Say

All About the Evening Bat

A unique and small bat, the evening bat is a somewhat common sight across Canada and America. You can find them roosting outdoors and hunting like most bats do.

While it has some similarities to other bats, there are ways to spot one. It has unique features and habits that make it easier to point out.

Appearance

The evening bat is a small animal with rounded features. Tiny dots for eyes, rounded ears, and a rounded snout set this bat apart from many others.

Their sharp teeth and physical appearance are similar to that of other bats, of course, but its rounded ears and other features are what make it stand out.

Its fur, like many bats, is usually a dark brown color. It can be different shades of brown, but it typically remains dark.

Life

Evening bats usually only live for a few years. In the wild, bats are popular prey. As they are small without much in the way of defense, they have several predators going after them. Owls, snakes, and other predator animals will go after bats for a quick kill. This significantly decreases their life span.

For the time the bats are alive, they will mate, eat, and try to survive. During the warmer months, around late summer, they mate. The males will mate with many females and then leave, leaving the females to care for the young.

They will birth 2 or 3 in the nursery, where all the mothers take care of the young together. When the bats are old enough to fly, which usually only takes a few weeks, they will go out on their own. The cycle then repeats itself.

Habitat

The evening bat likes to live near water. If it is an open space where they can quickly go find food and go back to roosting, it is their favorite type of spot to live.

You will usually find them living in trees or other locations out in forests, rarely, if ever, seeing them going into caves.

Diet

Like other bats, the evening bat likes to eat insects. Beetles, moths, gnats – whatever it is, they will go after it. They hunt at night, of course, as they are nocturnal animals.

The evening bat is common to find in America and Canada and it poses little to no risk to people. While you do not want to go near it, you do not have to worry too much unless it has decided to make your home its own.
